Mitochondria are essential for normal cell function.  Catherine’s research focuses on how mitochondria contribute to fibrosis in pericytes.  Outside of the lab, Catherine enjoys music and art.

Neutrophils are the most common type of leukocytes in the human body. Laura’s research focuses on the study of neutrophils and the identification of various subpopulations of this leukocyte. She utilizes biomaterials to engineer a composite microvasculature structure ex vivo, as well as several proteomics techniques. On her spare time, Laura enjoys going to the theater, cooking, and dancing salsa.

TGFb1 is a key mediator of fibrosis. Michelle’s research focuses on how inflammation enhances changes in pericyte phenotype caused by TGFb1 signaling. In her spare time, she enjoys playing water polo and doing puzzles.
